According to a recent article from Daily Mail, comedian James Corden has shed a whopping 84 pounds, and it took a lot more than just switching up his diet.
In an interview with The Sun back in May, Corden says he’s a big proponent of intermittent fasting, adding that he typically doesn’t eat until 12:00 pm. Starting his day off light, he’ll typically have something small like a piece of fruit accompanied by a boxing session with his trainer. “I try to eat healthily and not deprive myself,” he says. “The notion of going on a diet is everything that is wrong because at some point you are going to revert…It’s like Dry January—it’s brilliant if you give up booze for January but in the back of your mind you’re like, ‘Well, in February I’m going to have a drink’.”
To keep his food intake on track, Corden teamed up with healthy weight-loss company WW, which he resonated with because it doesn’t emphasize restrictions. “It’s just being aware of what you are putting in your body, trying not to eat things that have too many ingredients…I just really enjoy it. You don’t beat yourself up if you have a bad week—you just don’t revert back to eating Quavers at midnight.”
Outside of staying on top of WW and working out with his trainer, losing weight comes down to maintaining a healthy mental state, too. Explaining that he recently embarked on a four-day transcendental meditation course, the star says he learned to give himself 20 minutes of silence to let his thoughts ‘be whatever they are,’ which he says has been very helpful.
